Astrology for the week of Dec. 13, 2010

Aloha,

It's been a few days since I have written. Of course, Thursday Dec. 9 was the beginning of the Mercury Retrograde. You know, that time where we are supposed to go inward and reflect on the state of our lives, our motivations and our plans. It's not that we can't also move forward during a retrograde, but mostly this time is about review, reassessment, restructuring. With all this happening on the inside ~ then on the outside, we may find a higher than usual incidence of cars breaking down, computers crashing or having serious glitches, banking errors, contract disputes or communication breakdowns, misunderstandings, misperceptions. This is only a reflection of the changes we need to make within. The retrograde lasts atleast until Christmas. Use the time wisely by going into a deep self-reflection...possibly avoiding the "pitfalls" that are so customary of this time. After a full review, dream big ~ larger than life. Plan out your strategy and stay focused.

There is also a big pow-wow happening this week with Mercury (the thinking planet ~ in review while retrograde), Mars (action, desire, will) and Pluto (power, transformation). They are all at 4 degrees of Capricorn and cozying right up tho the North Node destiny point. If there was ever a time to put your thoughts into action in a big and powerful way...this is it! Many metaphysicians are talking about this week as one that could change your lives, alter your course and point you in the direction of your dreams...maybe even your destiny or fate.

What have we got to lose by not going for it? And, even at the very least, you should have no problem saying what's on your mind. The truth is easy to see, and we are not likely to let anything or anyone stand in the way of our true beliefs and strongly held convictions ~ nor should we. So, take the bull by the horns and speak your truth and walk your talk like never before!

On Tuesday, we wake up to an all day Aries Moon that takes us through until Thursday. We are full of fire and ready to claim new territory. Just be careful not to trample over anyone. It could be very easy to become selfish, greedy or power-hungry with all this Pluto stuff going on, especially when fueled by an exploding fountain of flames that represents the Aries energy.

By Thursday afternoon and all day Friday, we are able to calm down a bit and come back into our bodies. This would be an excellent time to focus on a little self-indulgence in self-care. Surround yourself with the beauty of Nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Step into the present. Are you comfortable? Secure? Do you have everything you need? Taurus is a slow and steady builder ~ loyal and faithful. While in Mercury review, ask yourself if you are in balance. The shadow side of Taurus is over-indulgence, selfishness, stubborness ~ with an over-emphasis on the material world and possessions. Oh, and let's not forget about the resistance to change! Just remember, refusing to move leads to stagnation. Change is the only constant. May as well learn to roll with it. Remember that the true path is in the "being," not the "having." I know it's cliche, but the journey really is the destination. Might as well enjoy it.

By the weekend, our minds are a-chatter when the moon shifts into Gemini. It's like the energy of Peter Pan ~ the eternal youth. Always curious, always seeking and disseminating more information, and flitting about like a busy bee from flower to flower. Sleep may be hard to come by ~ so make sure you have some Nighty-Night tea on hand. The key is to harness all that energy and point it into a powerful direction. Otherwise, we're more like riders on a wild and un-tamed buking bronco ~ spinning off into all directions, but never really getting anywhere.

Okay, friends. That's it for now. Sorry it's been a few days since I've written. I have been very ill and in recovery-mode. Am on the mend and swinging back into action. Thanks for hanging in there ~

Sincerely,
Dawn Elizabeth

Astrology for Monday, Dec. 6, 2010

The moon will remain in Sagittarius for the first half of the day. Sometime after lunch, the moon moves into stoic Capricorn, bringing us back down to Earth and eager to devise a plan for the state of our lives. Recall that the moon is representative of our emotional field. Make no mistake, it is a powerful influence that effects us daily. Today, the moon makes many connections to other planets. If nothing else, it's seems like it might be hard to feel "settled" today. The first meeting with Mars, earlier in the day, heats up our emotions, ignites our passions and adds fuel to whatever it is we are feeling. This need not be good nor bad, it just intensifies things.

Later in the day, our thoughts and emotions unite and take on a rather serious tone, thanks to a continued fusion between Mercury (the thinking planet) and Pluto (power, transformation). Our thoughts are weighty and deep. We are concerned with nothing short of radical changes. What is happening in your life now? How is your health? Your relationships? Your career?

All of this year, the cosmic weather has been blowing the winds of change our way. It feels uncomfortable, it feels like a challenge. Those of us who have been the most fixed, stubborn or set in our ways and habits are the ones subject to the most upheaval. The overall theme remains the same ~ align with your truth. Well, what does that really mean?

Think of every area on your life. Are you feeding your body the kind of foods it needs to feel energized, alive and vibrant? Are you getting daily exercise, fresh air and sunlight? What about your job? Does it support your true gifts and talents? Are you excited each day when you awake to get out in the world and do your thing? Are you in a relationship? Does your partner truly enhance your life. Are you walking the same path on life? Is your relationship in a healthy state of ebing?

These are really big questions. Even if we know we are not satisified, we may not know what to do to change, or to begin to change. Again, this is a global astrological theme. We are being pressed harder than ever to live our lives according to our highest good.

This week, we are given many opportunities to put a plan in place. We are still under the influence of the New Moon throughout the week. There is just enough angst in the air to alert us that something feels uncomfortable, out of place.

The Capricorn Moon through Wednesday gives us the push to plan our work and work our plan. Put it in writing. Allow yourself to take baby steps. This is a powerful time. Don't underestimate your own power to institute major change in your life.

Venus, the relationship planet is in Scorpio, the sign of the detective, shaman and natural psychologist. She is making positive connections with many planets all week and supporting us through our relationships, not only with people ~ but in our relationships to our own values and principals. Values? Principals? Yes. Do you know what they are? Are you drawing appropriate boundaries to protect and be true to them? If not, then that is your current challenge.

Take advantage of the Capricorn moon's ability to organize the situation, set goals and plan your steps. Make a list. Be the manager of your own destiny. I am here to support you in positive change.

Until tomorrow,
Dawn Elizabeth

Astrology Review ~ Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010

It's an all day Virgo moon today. There is much we can accomplish today. Organization is the key. If you have an overstuffed closet, an unbearably disorganized home office or a few pets who could use a bath, the Virgo moon is supporting your ability to be of service. The Virgin is quite adept at seeing the flaws in any environment. Skilled at problem solving, analyzing and perfecting, this Mercury-ruled sign has an attention to detail that is unrivaled.

Of course, there is a downside ~ and that is criticism. Seeing the flaws can be a gift that allows us to improve the aspects of daily living, such as our health, our routines, our work. Unfortunately, there can be a rather harsh downside to all of this. And that would be an endless stream of nit-picking and perfectionism aimed at eliminating everything perceived as imperfect. This can be annoying to the recipient at the very least. At worst, this sort of extreme fault-finding can lead to things such as distorted views of self and a feeling that one can never be good enough. So give yourself and others a break by tuning into the Sagittarian Sun's ability to see the bigger picture, the overall view. Otherwise, you may get so bogged down in the details that you lose sight of the overall plan, not to mention driving those around you crazy, or worse, degrading them with a never-ending quest for perfection.

I am certain that communications will be highlighted today, as Mercury, the communication planet is having dialouge with 7 other planets today. Our minds will be active. The effect of this can vary depending on your own personal astrology today, but suffice it to say, there are many opportunities available. This could be a great day to have a chat with siblings, get to know your neighbor or simply smooth out some rough edges in your conversations with others. In any case, this seems like a day of action. A good day to get some things accomplished.

Just to give everyone a sort of preview...Mercury will be taking it's timely retrograde in a less than 2 weeks. I believe it is Dec. 9 that Mercury slows to a crawl and begins it's tri-annual review (more on this later). The reason I am telling you this now, is so that you might put the Virgo moon to good use today and tomorrow and get a few things in order. During a Mercury retrograde, there are some rather typical breakdowns that seem to occur with irrefutable frequency. Automobile breakdowns, computer crashes, banking errors and outright communcation breakdowns are a few of the possibilities. So, if there's a rattle in your car, a tire that looks like it needs replacing, an important contract to sign or short travel that needs to be done ~ it might be good to wrap it all up in the next few weeks. Oh, and back up your important computer files. Again, more on this next week.

Okay. I think that does it for today.

I've got some packing and organizing to do..and yes, I plan to give my dogs a bath and a little extra TLC today (all 4 of them). I am looking forward to getting to it.

Until tomorrow, make it all happen!

Happy Thanksgiving ~ Thank You

Aloha,

Short and simple.

Gratitude is the theme of the day. So, I would like to thank all of you for being you, for what you do and how you do it. Thank you for your contributon to humanity and the animal kingdom.

Life is truly what we make it. Today, we will all have the opportunity to practice kindness with others, but especially with ourselves ~ as we seek to find comfort, joy and peace. Though many adjustments may be a necessary aspect to this day, they are all part of this fabulous journey we call life.

Thank you for sharing your unique and special gifts with the world ~ your longings, your yearnings, your pain and your loneliness. Your hopes, dreams and wishes and all your silly ideas. Thank you for sharing the sound of your laugh and the sound of your cry. For sharing with us your joy, your love, your human-ness. Thank you for your sweet and tender hugs and that very special gleem that is unique to just your eyes only. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and truth. For it is your very true and authentic essence that color and season the elixir of life for all to drink. Don't change a thing.

Thank you ~ for being you in this very moment, in your own special way. For the way you smile, the way your voice sounds, the way you walk. Thank you for all of your lovely quirks and eccentricties and for helping those in your life to grow. Please don't change a thing.

I am grateful for it all ~ the whole thing, and today ~ I will not try to change a thing...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Much love and peace to you all.

Sincerely,
Dawn Elizabeth

Astrology for Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010

Aloha,

Please bear with me, as it is a longer report than usual today. I hope you will read all the way to the end. Think of it as soul food, and we could all use a healthy serving!

So, did you all make it through Tuesday! Wow! Pluto (power, power struggles) was really giving us a ride for our money. If you didn't experience the discord directly, you may have witnessed it in others. And, yes, it was waaaaay over the top. Way over the top! Knowing the energies that the day had in store, I was still shocked by the seriousness of blatent displays of ego, will and destructive and manipulative power struggles I saw. I witnessed a little person being bullied and strong-armed by an adult who should have known better. I could not help but intefere. After all, just as Hillary Clinton says, "it takes a village." Though it's often best to mind your own business, few of us would have stood by and done nothing. The energies were so powerful on Tuesday, the earth even shook with a 4.6 earthquake here on Maui!

For Wednesay, things seem to settle down a bit, but mostly because we may feel a little detached emotionally. Unfortunately, we may also feel a little lonely, melancholy and blue. It's probably worse than it really seems (thanks to the Moon ~ feelings, in challenging aspect to Saturn ~ limitations, barriers). Some may be licking their emotional wounds from Tuesday, or offering solice to those who may have suffered the most.

Today is a day to offer our unconditional love to those around us, in the true spiritual principal of the Cancer moon. Rather than tune into the feelings of insecurity, worry and issues of control, I am hoping that we can all find our inner mother, and demonstrate random acts of kindness, gentleness and loving support to everyone in our world today. If we band together and make a pact, maybe we can actually outsmart the planets and transmute the tense energies handed to us yet again, and perform a little alchemy turning sour lemons into something sweet and delicious, turning sad faces into gleeming smiles ~ turning disease and illness into radiant health!

I think it's worth a try. In the spirit of gratitude in this season of Thanksgiving, it is truly time to count our blessings and offer support to those in need. If you must give into the Mars (desire), Jupiter (expansion) squabble, spoiling to go "over the top," let's aim our arrows high and shoot for compassion and be in the true spirit of giving. And, allow yourself to receive. It may just make someones day.

At the risk of sounding a little hokey and mushy, let's dare to see how many smiles we can bring to the people around us today, especially to the ones who seem to annoy us the most. We can never truly pretend to know what makes some people so mean, so hateful. What might they have experienced in their lifetimes to make them so hardened, so closed off? Let's put that cliche "love heals all wounds" to the test, and see if it holds up.

Okay, my friends, hold onto your hats, take another deep breath and make the most of the day! I know we can do it! It's going to be crowded out there today, with last minute shopping for Thursday's feast. People may be on edge, stressed out. Mars (ego) and Mercury (communications) are still neck and neck. It's hard to hold back. If we lash out at others, all parties are wounded. The holidays are very lonely times for many people. We live in a world where families are spread out and separated from eachother.

I learned today, on top of everything else, that my mother was taken to the hospital. She is 5000 miles away. She will spend the holiday in what I hope to be the good graces of kind and loving strangers, the very kind I encourage all of us to be today, and especially through the holidays (please send your prayers, love and light).

You never know whose mother, brother, sister, son or daughter we are giving our unconditional kindness to. And we can only hope that someone is doing the same for our loved ones. Let's get out there are support eachother, until there is so much love and so much light everywhere that we can cause a spontaneous combustion of world peace and love!

Sound crazy? Just read the words of the late John Lennon, and Imagine keeping his dream alive!

Imagine there's no heaven...
It easy if you try...
No hell below us...
Above us only sky...
Imagine all the people...
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries...
It isn't hard to do...
Nothing to kill or die for...
Aand no religion, too...
Imagine all the people...
Living life in Peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer...
But I'm not the only one...
I hope someday...
You'll join us...
And the world will live as one.

Imagone no posessions...
I wonder if you can...
No need fro greed or hunger...
A brotherhood of man...
Imagine all the people...
Sharing all the world...

You may say i'm a dreamer...
But I'm not the only one...
I hope someday you'll join us...
And the wrold can live as one.

Astrology for Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010

The Sagittarius Sun burns ever so brilliantly, shining light back on our sense of faith, philosophy and good fortune. We sure will need it, too ~ since today, the Gemini Moon makes many uncomfortable and tense connections with several planets. And sometime around dinner, the moon will swim into moody Cancer, where it will remain for the next two and a half days. Cancer is the sign of the mother, nurturer, healer and caretaker. The shadow side of the Crab is full of worry, insecurity and emotional dependency, to name a few (more on that tomorrow). The choice is always ours.

To begin with, the conflict between the stirrings of our heart versus the chattering monkeys (as my mom likes to call them) in our head continues. There seems to be a feeling of discord, amplified by the pending holiday season and any feelings of stress that may come with it. Our feelings may even seem explosive at times. We may feel like a pressure cooker, ready to blow a whistling stream of hot air in the heat of frustration and unexpected events.

If you can manage to take the high road and avoid all the needless conflict and feelings of angst, you may try to do so by tuning into your feelings of compassion, love and the healing nature that is present in being close to another human being. How truly fortunate most of us are to have so many people who love and care for us, are willing to make deep sacrifices on our behalf and would walk a mile just to see us smile (and, think how many people in your life you would do the same for).

So, it might be that feelings of deep gratitude and love might just hold the miracle we need to take the road less traveled. And if that doesn't do it ~ it might come down to sheer attitude. Some say attitude is everything. Today, I would have to say that is probably true.

At times, it is from the most unexpected corners that we find a sense of peace and calm. I had a new friend request on Facebook from a man named Peter Monday night. I accepted the request and then visited his page. Below is a copy of the words that he had just posted. I hope it will help you as much as it did me. Thanks Peter!!

"Let go of what has passed.
Let go of what may come.
Let go of what is happening right now.

Don't try to figure anything out.
Don't try to make anything happen.
...Relax, right now, and rest."

~Tilopa

Until tomorrow,
Walk your talk, live your truth and open to the living flow of Eternity~

Full Moon Sunday ~ Astrology for Nov. 21, 2010

The Full Moon in Taurus happened in the wee hours of the morning. As I write, the moon has just made its way in versatile and high-wired Gemini (more on that later). Where ever the Full Moon happened in your own astrological natal chart this morning, it asked the question, "Are you satisfied in this area of your life? And if not, why not?"

Taurus is all about security and stability. Every good Taurus has a well-spring of resources from which to rely upon. Resistant to change and erring on the side of caution, these Earth creatures are slow and steady builders. Fiercely loyal, practical and dependable ~ the house that contains this sign in your natal chart will give you clues about balance in a specific area of your life. For me, the Full Moon is in my 6th house of health, daily routines, work, service and training. This Full Moon is a mixed bag for me. So,if you know your natal chart, you can ask yourself, "Have I reached a point of fulfillment? If not, why not?" If the answer is "yes," then it is likely that you have employed the harmonious aspects of Taurus as described above to that given area of your life. If the answer is "no," then it is likely that you have been acting out the shadow energies of Taurus, some of which include: over-indulgence in physical & sensual pleasures, obstinance, materialism, possessiveness, as well as stubborness and stagnation due to do an unwillingness to embrace change.

How can you get back on track then? Try embracing a few of the higher traits of the sign in opposition. After all, the Full Moon appears full only because it is facing off with and in the full light of the Sun. In this case, Scorpio is opposite to Taurus. Scorpio is fixed passion. Think of it sort of like an intense and pyschological energizer bunny, who's task is to eliminiate everything along the path that does not represent Truth. Cutting through the veils of deception and lies are its areas of expertise. So, if you have given into the Taurean seduction of too much of a good thing, then it might be time to let go and do a little shedding ~ cut the fat, so to speak. Eliminate the non-essentials.

As I write, the moon has already taken flight into chatty and versatile Gemini. The Twins are full of curiousity and love to flit about from place to place gathering information and exchanging data. Maybe you'll pick up some interesting ideas today, or share a few of your own. Combined with the continued support from the cosmos for out-of-the-box ideas and fresh new ways of thinking, pure genius is at our finger tips. Gemini is skilled in exercising the mental and intellectual faculties. It can also be known for spinning out of control with too much going on at once...burning the candle at both ends and losing focus...so be sure to write down any novel ideas that come to you in a flash, as you might not remember them tomorrow.

Mercury, the planet that rules Gemini is in danger of going over the top today. Idle gossip could come back and bite you in the behind in more sober times, so watch your tongues today. You know what I mean. Also, it's a good day to make your point ~ and you may feel highly motivated to do so, just keep in mind that the energies of the day make it very easy to go overboard, overshooting the mark, thus invalidating your point and weakening your position.

Last but not least, it's Sunday. Both the Sun (ego) and the Moon (emotions) are squaring off with Neptune (dreams) and Chiron (healing). We may be tempted to lose ourselves in a world of escape, designed to fend off feelings of disillusionment and pain. It's an ongoing theme. We are being asked repeatedly to "wake- up." The world is shifting its consciousnes to a higher level. To do so calls for our full attention, even to matters that seems rather unpleasant. We may be tempted to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil," but remember, it's nearly impossible to fight off invisible demons. We are being challenged to bring everything out into the Light of day, where we can keep what we need and discard the rest. Not always a pleasant task. Sometimes we just need to take a little break. We all deserve one. I give myself and all of us permission (not that you needed it) to take a much needed "time out" if you prefer. Go to the beach, rent a good movie, turn off your cell phone for the day or socialize with some friends...give yourself a mini vacation, even for just a day. You'll be glad you did.

Until tomorrow,
Dawn Elizabeth
